The Board ensures that the National Urban Development Policy is integrated into societal and professional discussions and provides ideas for the themes and projects of the National Urban Development Policy. It comprises around 40 members, appointed by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety for a period of three years.

The players involved in the National Urban Development Policy implement this mandate continuously by staging various events and conducting discussions with their partners.
